I find I can never read without eating if there is a sandwich to hand...the worst distraction for me is the council strimming the grass across the road.

Thank you all for your comments.

Audio books seem to be an innovative idea to make people get back to books again, specially classics. The classic names have become something that everybody has heard but never read!

That happens to me *every* time I try to read a work of fiction. But then again, I think fiction in general mostly stinks(except Tim O'Brien and Voyages of Doctor Dolittle)

I'm toying with audio books as the alternative to reading. If someone calls, you can just pause it and get back. Only problem is all too often you realize you've just heard an entire hour without actually listening to a second of it.

I like your frankness...just to let you know, "avid book reader" is more of a self proclaimed title. ;-)

Its amazing how many of us go through this or have went through this phase. Infact I faced this issue so many times that I became a "casual" from being an "avid" reader.

Nice one !!
